My goal is to give you a finished space. This means more than just a couch, lamp, and coffee table. It could be everything from the little accessories around the room to the window treatments, to the lighting, to rugs. Those finishing items can add up. There are a million possibilities when it comes to the design of your space. It is important for us to not only understand the scope and vision, but also get down to the hard facts… the budget. Once we know a ballpark figure, we can design accordingly. We want to create a space you love and we certainly don't want to present something that is not in range with what you are wanting to spend.
Designers wear many hats, but there are times when other experts need to be brought into the process to make sure your project runs smoothly and you're completely satisfied with the end result. We come up with the unique design for your space. We create floor plans, select finishes and furnishings, we can design millwork and cabinetry, and lay out lighting plans. What we aren’t are general contractors. We will coordinate the subs needed for the design portion of your project. This could include an electrician for simple lighting installation, plumber for sink fixture installation, wall covering installer, painter, and custom window treatment installation. We do however work very closely with the general contractor via direct communication and our Interior design schematics to make sure the design intent is upheld throughout the process. Do we recommend hiring a general contractor? Absolutely! And we can also help find or recommend a reputable one for your project.
We provide a design service and not a tangible good per say, therefore we charge for our time and expertise to design your perfect project. Each project is completely different depending on the scope of work requested and thus priced accordingly. We figure out the cost of each project by first meeting with our clients to understand their design needs, and then determine how much time it will take to complete and deliver a beautiful design. Before we begin the project, we send our clients a clear proposal outlining our services by phase and price each phase based on the requested needs. Depending on the project, we offer a flat design fee or charge by the hour. Our hourly rate is $75.
Items for your home may be a mix of old, new, and everything in between. We often source from design trade companies, retail stores, custom furniture shops, online sources, and even antique markets. We offer our clients as much wholesale or discounted pricing as possible.
